Proofing
As your
job moves through the printing process, you will have the opportunity
to look at several different types of proofs. There are different
things to look for in type of proof, and it is important that you
always look them over completely. It is better to catch a mistake
on the proof than after the job is printed and in your hands! Below
we have listed the different types of proofs you may see and the elements
in each that should be given a closer look.
Laser Proof
The first proof you will receive once your job has entered the
systems department is a laser proof. This type of proof is generally
used for jobs that are not four-color process and is a basic proof.
When looking over the proof you should check to make sure that the
fonts haven't blown out, none of the elements have shifted, and no
text or graphics are missing.
Contract Digital Proofs
Our prepress staff will review your documents to ensure the best possible printing experience for your product. They will setup your documents for the printing specifications as per the quote. You will receive contract proofs using state-of-the-art EPSON Stylus Pro 7600 and 9600 printers. You will see a calibrated proof that is true to the color of your product. This will be on a full sheet with any spot aqueous, embossing, die cutting overlays required per your quote. You will also receive a trimmed down composite version (not calibrated) that will show you size plus any folds or die cutting required.
